The only reason I'm not giving this a full five stars is because some parts of it were admittedly a bit too slow and dry even for me, and keep in mind this is coming from a major lore aficionado.Įxcellent lore, gorgeous illustrations, and a must-have for anyone who would like to experience Warcraft's history in a perfectly chronological manner. Just like someone probably wouldn't enjoy The Silmarillion unless they're a huge Tolkien enthusiast, I don't think this would be a particularly fun read for anyone who simply enjoys WoW in a more casual way without really thinking much about the backstory. From the creation of Azeroth to the origins of the races we know and love, as well as the tremendously epic events that lead to the state of the world as we know it today.Īs with any lorebook, I'd say there's no real point bothering with it unless you're legitimately passionate about World of Warcraft not just as a game, but as a universe. This book is the first volume of a lore series that summarizes the entire history of Warcraft. As I read this book, I found myself going "ohhh, I get why that thing is there now!" or "I've seen that!" quite a few times, and it was great. Experiencing this world on the daily basis and having so many fond memories of it, I do consider it a big part of my life at this point. I think I can speak for many people when I say Azeroth often feels more like home than my actual home in real life. There's something truly magical about Warcraft as a series. At the end of the day I consider "Chronicle" a great book, and a definite must-read for fans of the Warcraft universe. Sorry for the professorial tone there, but as it is the book's most frequent criticism I felt it should be addressed. The expansion of scope, addition of detail, and creation of background is not itself a retcon. "Chronicle" does include a few smaller retcons, but mostly it is an expansion and refinement of existing story elements into a cohesive narrative. One element I feel needs to be covered, primarily for those with a strong interest in the Warcraft story, is the issue of the retcon." The term retcon generally means a development or change in a given story that forces the complete re-evaluation of previous information - in essence a retirement of previous continuity (which is where the term is derived). Most important, at least to me, is an account of the universe's prehistory including the rise of the Titan Pantheon who serve as the Warcraft universe's creator demigods. the War of the Ancients is explained in terms of its historical significance and a rough overview of events, but not to the same extensive details as the "War of the Ancients" trilogy of novels). All the high points are detailed clearly, all though not given the same breadth and scope as their companion material would (e.g. While this is done in a reference approach the narrative is clean and colorful, beginning with a background on the universe's fantasy cosmology and ending with the start of modern era of the story. "Chronicle" is an attempt to basically bring all this information together into one place and tie it all together creating a linear timeline and history for its fictional universe. The backstory of Warcraft has always been a rather tenuous and patchy tapestry made of multiple sources - the various video games (Warcraft I through III, followed by World of Warcraft) as well as several tie-in novels, anthologies, and graphical series. It's an impressive tome covering the mythology, prehistory, and history of the Warcraft universe (with a solid focus on its most important setting, the world of Azeroth). RECAP: DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS OF LORE! WORLD OF WARCRAFT! BATTLES! EMPIRES RISE AND FALL! ELVES AND HUMANS AND TITAN-FORGED! AZEROTH! Not so much: I wish there had been more illustrations, even just little ones! The photos were so gorgeous I wanted more of them. The illustrations were absolutely breathtaking! For me, who read this book as an almost everyday WoW player and someone who truly wanted to delve deep into the lore of the world, this was perfect. It is more a solid history book than anything, but if that's what you want (it was what I wanted) then it is amazingly well done. But a small warning: it's not for the casual WoW player, or for someone who is looking for a traditional "story." In short, this is the history of Azeroth from the VERY beginning - literally before the universe was formed - and it goes DEEP.

Montgomery’s signature skipping rods have ample backbone for setting the hook and the lively tip needed for skipping. I need a stiff rod to drive the hook home.” “The hardest thing was to develop a stiff rod that has enough tip action for skipping a bait,” Montgomery said. You can’t get the proper angle if the rod is too long. When making the skip cast, the rod should be angled down at about 45 degrees. You can skip with any length rod, Montgomery added, but to be deadly accurate, the rod’s length must match your height. “I also designed a 6-foot, 9-inch, rod for shorter anglers.” “I’m tall, so the I use the 7-foot, 1-inch, model,” Montgomery said. Thankfully, Montgomery worked with Lew’s to develop two signature Andy Montgomery skipping rods that are perfect for skip casting. Choose the wrong rod and you’ll never learn how to skip with any consistency. However, not just any rod is suitable for this difficult cast. A 4-inch wide opening is all he needs to skip a bait far under a dock. Not only can he skip a lure for distance, he does so with remarkable accuracy. South Carolina’s Andy Montgomery is widely regarded as the best skip caster in professional bass fishing. They lure him to the capital, where he goes against his better judgment and the pleas of his wife, who has had a dream in which she’s seen her husband murdered. Rome has a proud republican tradition and the group, led by Cassius and Brutus, have decided that the only solution is to assassinate him. In the play, a group of senators – Caesar’s good friend Brutus among them – have decided that Julius Caesar’s ambitions have driven him to the point where he is about to declare himself Emperor of Rome. The translation of ‘Et tu Brute’ from Latin is ‘Even you, Brutus?’. ‘Et tu Brute! Then fall Caesar!’ are Caesar’s last words. It is uttered by Julius Caesar in one of the most dramatic, violent and bloody scenes, in which a group of murderers – including Brutus – gang up on their victim, Julius Caesar, to stab him to death, then wash their hands in his blood. When the method finishes executing, the values on the stack are popped off, and the memory is freed up for other uses. As the method executes, it may push additional values onto the stack, such as intermediate results of calculations. When a method is called, the values of the arguments are pushed onto the top of the stack. In Java, stack memory refers to the part of a computer's memory that is used to store local variables, method arguments, and intermediate results of calculations while a method is executing. Create a data structure that efficiently supports the stack operations. The size of a directory is equal to the sum of all of the files it contains or that its subdirectories contain. The 'equals' method for your particular object collection will be used to ascertain this. The purpose of the contains () method is simply to check wether an equivalent object already exists in the collection. How would you do this in versions of Java prior to 1.5, specifically in version 1.4.2 java. Add a method peek() to Stack.java that returns the most recently inserted element on the stack (without removing it). It is entirely okay to override the 'contains ()' method - however, it is generally unnecessary. Returns true if and only if this string contains the specified sequence of char values. If you want to work with string literal you have to write. With Java 1.5, the contains (CharSequence s) method was added to the String class. Therefore line char A admin is incorrect. How does stack memory work in Java, including PUSH and POP operations? By using string: After declaring the string you can call the contains method like : Note that char in java is written in and a String is written in ' '. In summary, stack memory is a useful tool for organizing and managing the flow of a program. This helps to keep track of what the program is doing and ensures that tasks are completed in the proper order. both objects have same value for all fields) equality and not just object references. In other words, a stack is a data structure that stores. It seems that I can't use the 'contains' method to do this. A Stack in Java is a collection (or group) of elements stored in the last in first out (LIFO) order. I want to see if one of the objects contains a name. The items at the top of the stack are the ones that are currently being worked on, while the items at the bottom are waiting their turn. 1 Yes, you can use contains method. You will need to implement equals () method if you are after meaningful (i.e. each object has a String field 'name' and an int field 'value'. You can take stack memory as a to-do list for your Java program. If it may be helpful, let me know and I can e-mail it. I tried to attach the WireShark capture, but got stopped by the forum's PCAP extension filter and 128 KiB size limit. And when using dumpcap you will miss some initial packets. This pcap is based on traffic to and from an Ethernet address at f8:ff:c2:04:a5:7b. As already mentioned, the best way to capture network activity during a (re)boot is from outside the computer, using a tap (or monitor port). Scroll to ‘Requested IP address’, showing the IP address the DHCP server attempts to assign. In ‘Packet details’ view, find and expand the ‘Bootstrap protocol’ entry. Click on the captured frame with a source IP address of 0.0.0.0 (normal until the host is assigned a valid IP address). Our first pcap for this tutorial is Wireshark-tutorial-identifying-hosts-and-users-1-of-5.pcap. Look for the target client among the hostnames. Although not much surprising, there were one or two of the adapter options that just plain did not work because Windows didn't have drivers available. Any host generating traffic within a network should have three identifiers: a MAC address, an IP address and a hostname. The best I've seen is one session (not sure which adapter was in use - can test again & verify if desired) where all the packets transmitted fine, but there still was no speed improvement. I tried swapping around network adapters on the guests, with limited positive results. Everything seems to operate fine, except for the fact that it is EXTREMELY SLOW! If I run WireShark on the server, it shows that a large number of the TFTP packets are being sent with bad checksums! The worst this issue is felt, is when I try to use WDS to push a boot/install image from one guest machine to another. I have designed multiple cards before with this template download before, and never had this issue which is why I am at a loss. I didn’t like how I looked even in the mirror, so showing up on camera consistently was out of the question. I wasn’t able to persuade myself to become serious about YouTube just because I felt so ugly. It was the time I founded this ministry, Online Discipleship For Women, and God called me to create content for YouTube. I was cheated on, I was betrayed, I was abandoned. As you can imagine, I felt heartbroken and crushed. In December of 2017, the last hearing in regards to my divorce was over, and I began my journey of healing and depression recovery. The Brood gets Storm and Fire Dragons which are good if you need much more firepower and don't mind the cost and wait. The Summoning Tower can do the Gate (2) research and start making Summoners. The Brood once again draws a dud as it now makes Harpies and the Harpy Hag Research, but due to the abundance of air units at this point, these are only good for some niche counterplay against High Elven spellcasters.įinally at Doomspire Level 5, upgrades arrive for the Summoning Tower and Brood with Balora now trainable at the Chaos Shrine. The Summoning Tower meanwhile will give access to Summoning (2) and Gate (1), accelerating unit production further. The Lightning Spire upon upgrade gains anti-air targeting and extra damage. Building the Chaos Shrine will be a priority as it grants access to Intangibility, Summon Mana Research and Daemons at the Pit, toughening up all your units for the endgame. It will be only at Keep Level 5 that the brood becomes worth something.Īt Doomspire Level 4, the Chaos Shrine becomes constructable and the Summoning Tower, Lightning Spire and Brood can all be upgraded. The Brood draws the short straw in the build order with Imps and Succubi as air units with Reapers also available to perform anti-air defence, the Firebat unit and Doombat Research have very limited utility beyond making some cheap, very fire-resistant scouts. Ideally the two should be used together for a tough defence. By contrast, the Tower deals Fire damage and can only be upgraded by garrisonning Reapers and Summoners (which you don't have yet), meaning that its' primary advantage over the Spire is it's range and lower Keep Level Requirement. The Lightning Spire is an interesting alternative to the Tower as it does not need or permit unit garrisonning, has a rarely-resisted damage type and the Stormcall Research, allowing it to cause rain and buff the Combat scores of all Daemons, however it cannot target air units (yet) and has below-average accuracy. Nonetheless it is the foundation for many more Researches so the player will likely want to prioritise it. The Summoning Tower opens the way for quick mine-filling via the Brood research and can accelerate unit production with Summoning (1) though this may place a strain on the players' economy, so it is strongly suggested that Mines are filled beforehand. Upon reaching Doomspire Level 3, the Brood, Lightning Spire and Summoning Tower all become available along with Salamanders. or economic power via the Hard Labor line. Just building it will unlock only the Pit for construction and the Imp for deployment, so it is imperative that the Daemon player upgrade it to Level 2 as soon as possible to grant access to the Portal, Gallows and Nightmares with Succubi and Reapers also being added to the Pit after Portal/Gallows construction respectively, vastly expanding the players' unit options and permitting them to start research to improve both combat power via Might of Ctharos etc. The Doomspire is one of the largest "keep" buildings in the game, and keeping it defended will be a higher-than-usual priority due to its' high cost. Lacks powerful/useful hero options other than the Daemon Summoner. Many units have vulnerabilities to common physical damage types.Units tend to be expensive, moreso than most other races.Needs to be built up before the expensive units can become accessible. Very powerful metagame hero choice - the Daemon Summoner.Units tend to be easy to access early on in the game and be tough to beat.Multiple Researches mean the power of the Daemons scales with game time. The Daemons' basic unit is an upgradable flying missile unit with cold damage. However, a brief dive into the Accessibility settings should help you deal with how Acrobat displays PDFs. But what about the actual PDFs that you want to read? There isn’t a readily available night mode switch that you can use to darken the background of your documents. On Windows, Adobe Acrobat Reader provides a dark theme (View menu > Display Theme) that you can switch to eliminate at least some of the glare coming out of your screen. At least, that’s the case on the mobile versions - on Windows, you need to rely on a workaround. It would be a shame if it weren’t to feature support for a dedicated night mode, but thankfully, it does.
